Nubank

Acoustic design and psychoacoustic study for the São Paulo office. Sound science applied to corporate performance and well-being.

The challenge

In 2022, Nubank invited us to look at (and listen to) its São Paulo office. In large-scale corporate environments, sound is an invisible force: it shapes focus, communication, stress and well-being, yet it is rarely designed with the same rigor as light or furniture.

Unnecessary noise is the most cruel absence of care.Florence Nightingale, 1859

Our approach

We treat sound as a scientific field. The project combined acoustic design and a full psychoacoustic study of the environment, driven by measurements, data and principles of sound perception.

Diagnosis

Acoustic measurements and sound mapping of the office.

Psychoacoustic analysis

How measured sound is perceived: intelligibility, distraction and comfort.

Design

Acoustic design and sound guidelines tailored to how each space is used.

Implementation

Deploying the solutions together with Nubank's teams.

Validation

Measurable reassessment of the environment after the interventions.

The result

A workplace where sound works in people's favor: more intelligibility where people talk, less distraction where people focus, and a sound experience coherent with the company's culture.
